Your vehicle must have a 7-way “Pollock” trailer plug for the lights and brakes and must have a dash mounted electric brake which is fully functional. A brake controller is usually a factory or aftermarket installed device mounted to the tow vehicle’s driver’s side dashboard area that engages a trailer’s braking system. The system is generally time delayed or proportional to the tow vehicle’s brake engagement when slowing down or coming to a stop. Most trucks manufactured with a “tow package” or “trailer ready” have a trailer brake control installed or it is pre-wired for installation. We can assist with aftermarket installation.
